I am looking to get my Turntable out of the big HT system and place in smaller room dedicated vinyl system....

I've been using Onkyo Stereo listening mode through HSU 5.1 package, with big VTF 15 sub.

Was thinking of inexpensive Andrew jones pioneer speakers setup with good electronics.

See poll..

May want to reconsider it altogether? ;)

Better speakers/subs will trump "good electronics". Smaller room may help, tho. Electronics are a small part of the puzzle....

I use my tt in my main system, have no desire to go to another room to listen to vinyl. I don't listen to vinyl that much either, due to fuss/inconvenience of play mostly, keep it around for nostalgia and some particular recordings.

I have my turntable sitting in my living room, next to my center speaker. I'm hoping to create a 2-channel(or 2.1) music listening room in a year or two. It wouldn't be vinyl only though, as also I like having my Bluesound Vault's library and Tidal Hi-Fi available for two channel listening.

Some AH'er

C'mon, I got the Pro-Ject in the HT and the Technics in the man cave :p

But, honestly I listen to CDs or stream off my network more often, just out of convenience o_O

My TT is part of my Home Theater system and I have no cause to move it out of there since I'm almost an empty nester. :)

LOL. My living room is my man cave/ht. Don't really have another room better for it, so my good ol' Technics suffices, no need for a second tt. I do have various other rooms with systems but those are digital sources of music only, for reasons of not only convenience, but quality.

I think it all depends on whether you want two listening rooms or one. I personally like two in a home as my wife and I do not always want to watch/listen to the same thing. So that means that both rooms must be of similar quality or it might lead to an argument.

The only other decision then remains is should the both be able to deliver a picture? For me the answer is yes. Both rooms can play LPs. I am the only one that listens to LPs to any extent. The system downstairs is quite good enough that I really enjoy, especially by the fire in the long Northern winters.

My only caveat is that if funds are limited then build just one good system at least to start with.

Well stated, TLS Guy. I've come to realize that I also need two rooms, though only one will need to play LP's as I'm the only one here who will "bother."

Agreed. Although relative, I think "funds are limited" to 99% of us.

I think most of us agree the hands-down most important part of any system is the front L/R speaker pair. Also key are the sub(s), and Center speaker, but the L/R are critical. That means we stretch our budgets to get the best L/R we can.

Now we have a system w/ the best L/R we could find/afford... and want to add a turntable. What will be the key components for the turntable? Right... the L/R speakers. If we go to another room, we either buy another pair of "the best" speakers or we settle for something else, (less expensive), we know and can hear are inferior to our main system.

For most of us, I suspect the choice is really between privacy and quality. (Except for those 1%ers, who we all know are the root of every evil in this country.)
