New vintage vinyl system: Thiel 1.2 + Acurus amp..(?)

So I have the bug again of system building...
Small vinyl 2.1 system in my reading room, 12 x 12

Trying to utilize my Musical Design preamp I've had in box for 15 years

AT 120 turntable
Thiel 1.2 speakers
PSB sub...
Music Design SP 2B tube preamp

?
Acurus A250 amp , used. <<<<<<<. questionable to drive Thiels
Can be had for $400-500 used, and want to stay on this area.


My concern is matching preamp to a power amp.

Excellent amp and as a former Thiel owner you shouldn't have any problem driving the 1.2's.

Seems a useless pre-amp/amp for use with a sub. What do you mean by matching a pre-amp to power amp...the output voltage to the input sensitivity or some audiophool nonsense?

I hooked my turntable up to my home theater system playing some old Beatles albums.

I use onkyo Stereo listening mode, seems OK. But would like to have a stripped down system for vinyl, TT, preamp, amp, speakers.

Never did obtain the Thiels...

So I'm still thinking of putting the vinyl system in a reading room upstairs dedicated.

Actually these pioneer Andrew Jones speakers I am going to listen to...

Great sounding 1k signal! Nice looking scope, but what does this have to do with JLM's questions? I'm not sure I will base my enjoyment of playing records on that video. Acurus A-250 would drive the 1.2's no problem. JLM I've seem a lot of good deals on Thiel 1.5's out in the used market, and it was a nice upgrade from the 1.2's.
