I need your expert advise before i purchase another karaoke machine. What is the "best for the money" karaoke mach. That has meters, gages etc. So that i can see the balance between the music coming in through the inputs and the voice coming in through the microphone? I usually have to record a song too many times to get the balance right. I already have a stereo system hooked up to my old one so all i need is a decent & affordable karaoke machine to replace it. Thank you, tony.

I would get one of those Yamaha stereo mixers with the compression feature.

Connect a karaoke machine to the stereo inputs of the mixer via RCA cable, then connect to your AVR stereo channel input.

The price ranges from $100 to $300 (more inputs, features, and XLR stereo outputs).

Karaoke machine ii

THANK YOU ACUDEFTECHGUY. I HAVE ALREADY HAD SOMETHING SIMILAR TO WHAT YOU RECOMENDED CALLED A ZOOM R-8 BUT IT WAS TOO MUCH MONEY FOR TOO MANY FEATURES I WILL NEVER NEED. MY PRESENT RSQ KARAOKE MACHINE IS ON IT'S LAST LEG SO I FIGURED IT SMARTER TO INVEST IN A BETTER KARAOKE MACH. THAT HAS THE VOLUME METERS I NEED SO I CAN BALANCE THE MUSIC WITH THE MICROPHONE. IF YOU ARE AWARE OF SUCH A MACHINE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THANK YOU, TONY

karaoke machine 3

i figured i needed to explain myself better so here goes. i already have a recorder & a stereo system & a karaoke player but the karaoke player is on it's last leg. since i'm going to purchase another karaoke mach. i would prefer if it had vu meters on it & two tracks so that i can visually balance the music on one track with what's being sung through the microphone on the other. this would be a tremendous asset to me because i would'nt have to sing a song so many times trying to get the balance right. if you know of such a machine, or if one does not exist, please let me know either way. kindest regards, tony:

Take a look at my post under Karaoke with Surround Sound. It may be helpful.

I'm not sure about your question. Can you elaborate? IMHO, the best Karaoke players are Vocopro & RSQ. There are also Karaoke players that allow you to record your singing onto a digital memory card (they are cheap). Some manufacturer's may sell an accessory that has VU meters. Go to vocopro.com & rsq.com. Good luck.

I'm new to this forum, but to my knowledge, I did not quote myself. I replied to your post which needed clarification, IMHO. I'm not used to such a rediculous attack (nasty). Fine don't talk to me & I will do the same to you.

Could someone please elaborate on what a karaoke machine actually is?

I mean, all it looks like to me is that it's a DVD player with some basic mixing capabilities.

Why do people buy specific players instead of just getting a basic mixer and a DVD player with analog outputs on it? Hook the mics up to the mixer, hook the DVD player up to the mixer, and then mix.

I certainly would never buy the stuff that appears on the sites linked above. The cheap ones appear to be completely under achievers, while the expensive ones all have speakers, and are massive.

A cheap Yamaha mixer seems ideal, as mentioned above.

That should last someone for years and years without issue and seems appropriate for a more complex home setup.

But, I'm not sure that a karaoke machine doesn't deliver something additional that I'm not aware of, and I would like to be more informed on that product.

Post #6 you quote yourself. Post #5 you post on 4 year old topic, I'm pretty sure that OP has already found solution and is no longer looking for this topic.

Crap - I didn't realize I was encouraging some necrobumping action here.

The biggest difference is Karaoke CD +G gives you on screen lyrics. You know what to sing & when. The ntwo best brands of Karaoke players ae Vocopro & RSQ.
