First, speaker wattage ratings are the maximum before meltdown generally, do you plan to use these at maximum volume? At 93dB sensitivity they're relatively sensitive and won't need a lot of amp to become quite loud. I doubt seriously you could/would want to use the max power anyways, at least not before your ears bleed and the speakers go into power compression. AVRs of this range aren't famous for handling 4 ohm loads at full power, either. While both avrs would probably be fine at moderate volumes, they may well run out of juice at very high volumes, particularly if the speakers spend significant time near the 4ohm end of their rating.

Do both avrs meet your feature requirements other than power? How far away is your seating position from the speakers?

Speaker wattage ratings are max they can handle so don't worry about them. As your speakers dip to 4 Ohm you should look for higher model receivers imo to avoid problems. Wattage rating is not so important here either unless your space is big. I would look for at least mid range Denon / Marantz / Yamaha receiver with the features you need.

I think either will be fine, they are quite similar; choose on which has the features you want/need.

It's OK either way, though if the amplifier is of a higher rating than the speakers don't turn it up all the way just to hear "how loud does it go?"

Onkyo have got some quality issues I believe so I would skip that and go with Denon. Watts on either amp/speakers don't matter as long as the amp can deliver clean watts and the watts don't go too far over what speakers can handle. If at any point your speakers start to sound bad / make weird noises put the volume down immediately to avoid damage.

Onkyo had reliability issues with certain hdmi boards/network chips and even extended their warranties for such after the fact. Last few years reports of problems haven't been to those levels. FWIW. Most avr manufacturers contract things out, Denon's recently moved from China to Vietnam. Might be for the better but not enough time has passed to tell....
