Which Preamp would fit the bill...

I'm looking for a preamp that will allow my amp and speakers to 'breathe' and sound wide and dynamic with zero colouration in music. My current gear is a Bryston 4B3 Amp and Bryston Model T speakers, and a DAC OPPO BDP-105. My previous preamp was an excellent Sunfire Theater Grand III. (Now for sale - http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/649283266-sunfire-theater-grand-iii-surround-sound-processor-carver/)
I have, on loan, a Simaudio MOON Neo 350P. To my pleasure it sounds extremely dynamic and raised the musical floor in comparison to the STG. But I wonder if there is a more to be achieved as far as clarity and openness.
I understand we are trekking into diminishing reward territory; spending a small fortune with negligible gains is not something I want to do. Am I wrong?

Speakers effect 95% of the sound and electronics 5% so I doubt you will achieve much with changing your preamp. Perhaps its time to look for new speakers if you want to change the sound?

My friend you have been in the company of dealers on hallucinogens. I fear you are in serious need of detox.

Pretty much any preamp I have come across measures totally flat, and has errors only an nth part of even the best speakers.

If your air is stifling then change your speakers not your preamp.

Hint the people who design those speakers for Bryston are incompetent, and in the extreme.

Hi TLS..I'll take your unfavorable words about Bryston cabinet makers with some poutine and gravy. Have you auditioned the speakers? To my ear, they sound very detailed. I'm focused on selecting a neutral, unadulterated but dynamic preamp. I'm trying to address the exposure of poorly recorded music with high end gear. I'm looking at the BAT VK-51se for this. The detail I'm after is in the mid range with warm/darker highs. Folks say the BAT adds depth, detail and spacing between instruments. I'm assuming the tube warmth helps.

And what's wrong with hallucinogens? I'm a sixties baby.

Tube amps will color the sound, yes, but they won't be as accurate. If you want unaltered sound you already have the electronics for it. It is time to shop for new speakers if you want to change the sound quality for better.

Yes, Bryston had the assistance of Axiom for their speakers. I've been in the professional music industry for many years setting up mainly JBL concert series sound systems. I'm no stranger to the extreme high pressures of sound clarity and power...lots of power.
For thos who care, the Model T is a great example of what high power and dynamic sound is about. TBH, I didn't really know what drivers were in the Bryston cabinets prior to auditioning them, what reeled me in was the mid range tonality and the way in which it ranges between the notes of a scale especially in its timbre. I'm no ballad monger but the mid range is lacking on many speakers, even my previous B&W Nautilus were very thin. It may be that some people appreciate different aspects on various speakers. I personally enjoy the range and super wide sweet spot the Model T exhibits. I highly recommend listening to a pair.
