Polk Audio RTiA7 and Outlaw model 5000

Hi All

I am a Noob! as far as hifi is concerned, I was finally able to convince my wife and buy myself a pair of Polk Audio RTiA7's. I am looking for a power amplifier to power them and will also buy a pre amp or a receiver later (may be used)

I was considering Emotiva XPA-2 Gen 3 earlier but they are a little bit more expensive for my budget.
I heard great reviews on the website for Outlaw model 5000, and I was wondering

(i) If they have enough power to run the Polks
(ii) If yes how hard will it be to pair them with another pre-amp/ receiver how would I know if it matches the amplifier.

Please help!

What is the system intended for? 2ch system? I would initially say you probably don't need a beefy amp to drive those speakers. For 2.0 or 2.1 you would likely be fine with the Outlaw RR2150.

I am curious - have you already purchased these polks? If so - can you return them for full refund?

Polk lists those speakers as 89dB sensitive and 8 ohm impedance. An AVR alone would power them to quite loud levels. How loud do you need? Purchasing a power amp before you have an avr or pre makes no sense, but if you do want a power amp and an avr make sure the avr has pre-outs to use the power amp with.

I didn't want to go there, but if the OP is looking at dropping that kind of cash, speakers are where I'd invest it, not amplification.

Yes, just to power the Polks, I dont have any other speakers to power, I was looking at an AVR + Power amp setup, more for getting more details from the music at moderate level instead of playing them loud, any suggestions?

At moderate level the amp won't be giving you more of anything. I'd just use a receiver and the Outlaw is a good suggestion.

Just an FYI, a power amp alone is pretty useless without either a preamp or a receiver with preamp outputs driving it. That's like having an engine with no car.

also, most people don't actually NEED (want is a different issue) a separate power amp if their receiver is up to snuff. ...just something to think about but it's your money.
