Looks like I'm jumping in...

I've always loved quality audio and have a decent system in my car, but now I need something for home...

Since I'm a bit of a bass head the first thing I got is the JBL es250p. Right now it's hooked up to my studio monitors at my sound design work station and is beginning to be broken in (just got it today). Next I think I'll probably get a combo, floor standing front speakers and a receiver.

I can't wait to get started, thanks for having me!

Welcome to AH.
A Friendly advice - before next purchase - do consult us before going with it. It might save you money, headache and time.
In meanwhile do enjoy your sub - It's actually not bad in it's price point.

p.s: e-sig - you do know what a liquid nicotine is a strong poison right?

Believe me, I know how toxic the stuff is, I make it :) I usually deal with less than pure nicotine though (100mg/ml). Also, I'm a bit of a novice chemist so nicotine certainly isn't the most toxic thing I deal with.

I was actually able to get the sub for less than $200. I figure I can add a second, whether it's identical or not, in the future?

EDIT: Adding a second sub isn't even in my plans at tthis point, I need speakers and a receiver before anything else.

Yes, You would need to seriously upgrade your "studio monitors" first :p:rolleyes:
Focal Alpha if you could afford it or JBL LSR305/308 would be my suggestions. Also something creative for bass management - maybe some inexpensive external audio card with bass management.

The sub isn't going to stay connected to the monitors like they are. I think the monitors I have get the job done as well as I need them to, so not really wanting to upgrade those, wanting more hi-fi, lol.

I was actually looking into a pair of the JBL es80's. I think the fact hat they are also JBL is only a coincidence, I have no affinity for Harman products.

Hey, before this thread dies I thought I would ask one more question. Everything was going fine until I opened up the user manual for my sub, I saw this wiring diagram and now I'm confused.

The sub is hooked up with a 1/8" to rca cord. The speakers have a 1/8" sub out connection. Do I have them set up right?
