Need a New AV Receiver for New Speakers

So I went off recommendations on this forum to buy speakers from this site: http://philharmonicaudio.com/. I'll be getting my speakers this week after waiting two months for them so I'm pretty stoked. However, I could use a new AV receiver to power these puppies: http://philharmonicaudio.com/slims.html. I asked the store owner about receivers and he said the following:
The Slims will need a good bit of power. When you're checking out receiver power specs, look for the one they give for stereo operation, with both channels operating simultaneously, at hopefully low distortion from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. 100 of those watts is about the minimum. Specs like 5 X 100 don't mean a lot. They're measured at 1 khz with one channel running quite possibly at 1% distortion.
In addition to the two towers I'm getting, I'm also receiving an MTM center channel as well from this website. I plan on going surround at some point so I'd like my receiver to be able to take 7 channels. I also really want Bluetooth and probably an auxiliary port on the device as well. I will be using the speakers and receiver to watch TV shows and movies, play video games, and listen to music on. Budget is flexible.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I would recommend the Yamaha AVR models RX-A2050 (140WPC) or RX-A3050 (155WPC), if you're purchasing new units. I own a pair of Salk SongTower QWT's & the associated matching Center channel speaker being powered by a RX-A2000 (140WPC) and it's more than enough juice. Also similarly spec'd AVR's from Denon, Marantz, Anthem or Pioneer will do the trick. I highly recommend demoing all the brands if possible to make sure the "tonal" quality matches your own preferences . Enjoy your new speakers.

Just be sure whatever receiver you do buy has preamp OUT connections so that no matter what speakers you end up buying in the future, you can power them with an external amp.

Lower end receivers and some mids do not offer these connections, so be sure before you buy!

Hmmm... Based on your speaker selections, (which are outstanding, by the way), I'm guessing you're somewhere in the $1k neighborhood. I like Yamaha and Denon, have had both, and currently have Denon. Look at their website in the price range you like.

Pay attention to TheWarrior's advice. Make sure it has pre-outs. Check out the X4200W or X3200W. If you want more bang for your buck, look at Accessories4less refurb models. They're factory refurb and come with a warranty.

^ If you don't care about Atmos (which most of us don't) newer receivers are often skimping on important things like amp quality to provide the processing and extra channels needed. So older pre-Atmos receivers can be had for significant savings.

Wait for the Amazon 50% sale on current Denon & Marantz models when the newer models are released in a few months.

The Denon X3000 series should be $500 (MSRP $1K).

Don't mean to butt in, but when might I see this sale start?
