Seriously, I have no life.
If only we could read each other's mind.

What I think and how that comes out may be 2 different things. :)
I am also presuming that the bass cabinets are not connected to the "sub" out on the processor but part of each channel speaker out, correct?

Actually Gene sets the XO @ 250Hz for the bass cabinets of his 8T speakers... I am setting the XO @ 150Hz for the bass cabinets of my five T2 speakers
I knew you were talking about 5x speakers. But you listen to stereo music in stereo, right? So just 2 speakers.

And like Gene's, your 2 speakers have the "subs" directly underneath. So as the frequencies increase and a "stereo" effect becomes noticeable, the stereo sources are the same as your mid/high speakers. And that is the same as using Direct and eliminating the sub(s) for the guy w/ average speakers. Right? (Not to say it sounds as good, just that it's the same idea w/ stereo bass.)

Also, if your subs were front and back, instead of adjacent to your L/R mid/high speakers, listening in stereo w/ 250Hz crossover, would be a different experience. Now the crossover alters the apparent source of the sound. Mids & highs are Left/Right, lows are Front/Back. I see this as a potential problem for the average guy.

Don't get me wrong. Not throwing rocks at a high crossover. Just saying there may be considerations for the average guy/system.

Seems about right.

Yeah, if the subs (woofers) were not directly underneath the Hi/Mid speakers (modular tower), I can see why setting the XO above 80Hz might be an issue.
