Hello Swiftty and welcome to the forum. I see that YOUR room is 1,008 ft.^3. How far is your seating position from the front-stage? What do YOU prefer? Music listening? More a movie kind of guy? Gamer? Is YOUR room open to any other areas? We just need a bit more information first. BTW, is the $300 budget set in stone? Or, perhaps YOU could spend a bit more if it is worth it, no?

Cheers,

Phil

i prefer music listening, I like lots of rap. My room leads out to a loft if that's what your asking? And 300 is most I can pay.

In the $300 price range many look at one of the Bic subs or Dayton subs. I am NOT as familiar with any of these, but I am sure others here could chime in. Will look and see what I can find. AVS is also a very good source for YOU.

Cheers,

Phil

Here is a good thread for YOU to read. It certainly will be worth YOUR time. Here is a link:

http://www.avsforum.com/forum/113-subwoofers-bass-transducers/1364182-list-budget-subwoofers-300-less.html

I will see what else I can find to help YOU. Good luck with YOUR decision.
Excellent suggestion Phil, the guy who started that thread really seems to know his stuff! Oh wait, that was me. Never mind. :p All kidding aside...

Given that the OP listens to rap, a genre of music which seems to favor volume over sound quality, another potential choice might be the SUB-1500. While not ideal from a SQ perspective, it might satisfy his budget number and the output needs.

I am NOT too familiar with the Dayton subs. But, many seem to like them. BTW, I really could use YOUR advice. If YOU don't mind I am going to send YOU a PM. Appreciate YOUR input.

PM sent. I was also looking to get in touch with Wayne. Have not seen him on tonight. I know you both are well qualified to answer my questions. Looking forward to YOUR reply. Have a good night.

For your price range I would look at either 2x Dayton sub-1200 or 1x Dayton sub-1500.

Have you looked at the used market where you live? Or on the various audio forums online?
