The SVS SB13-Ultra sub is up to $1600 now or $3000 if you buy a pair. At these new prices, I think there are far better options.

I vote for dual subs and dual SVS SB13-Ultras are no longer a bargain!. This is for music and evening out the bass is more important than a slight gain in low frequency output.

I would go with the Denon X4000 for $570 shipped to be able to manage dual subs properly:

and Dual Hsu ULS-15 mk2 (measures 18" in all 3 dimensions) for $1638 shipped:

The Rythmik E15HP which Jman preferred over the Ultra is still only $2316 shipped for a pair and would be excellent if it doesn't stretch the budget too far!

What do you think, crossedover?
I ran the new monitors thru bass box pro and with the cabinet size listed and with 5 inch port and got an f3 of 39hz tuned. By itself it seems to be linear from 38hz to 5khz or 6khz ( the driver is stupid good, so it works well with all applications)i may have missed something but i am waiting to see Dennis' measurements. Sub wise there are so many that work well with the speakers, Im not sure. I was thinking that Jim could make both cabinets and a 15" sub with a cubed cabinet. Leavening the subs final specs and size to be defined. A 15" cube with the right dsp file would be sweet or 2 10"s with loading to accommodate the monitors at correct ear height.

Do you think Salk could meet her time line?
I might venture he would be busy with main-stream orders this time of year.

Jim could answer, but being .5 cf cabinet and their working relationship, its possible. If he uses one of the PE enclosures thats finished except for the port and finish around it, more than likely

That is possible, but I thought you were suggesting Salk build a custom subwoofer.

Yes that would be a normal lead time Im sure. I would certainly enjoy the monitors without the sub right away. :D Ive got a 8" TC sounds in a small sealed box and if i get the philamonitors for my office I probably wont use it. If they do extend to 40/42hz , its a lot of output in a small box
