Connecting Airmotiv 6s to Denon 3312CI

How can I connect powered speakers to a Denon 3312CI. Emotiva says to connect through the preamp RCA connectors. I have done this but get no sound until the volume is near the maximum level. The signal is badly distorted. I have spoken to Emotiva and Denon and tried their suggestions to no avail. On the verge of shipping them back to Emotiva.

As sure as I am about anything which is to say that my knowledge base is thin at best. There are zones 2 and zone 3 and they are separated from the main preamps so I have connected to the FR and FL in the main preamp section with the above stated result. I have also tried both zone 2 and 3 to check against the possibility that the main set of preamps were damaged. There was no difference in outcome. Thank you bfor your interest and the pic. The arrowed connections were where I have attempted to make things work.

Is the red power selector on the back of the speakers in the 115v position?

They are set at 115v.

Correct. In fact, everything was disconnected except the 6s'.
