I make no apologies. I am a Charles Smith fan boy!!

Kung Fu Girl Riesling

A nice Washington State Riesling. Also a very affordable Riesling at $7.99.

91 point rating from Wine Spectator.

If you like sweet, but not cloyingly sweet wines this is one I highly recommend. The sweetness is more fruit sugars than cane. This wine is well balanced and delicious.

Stone fruits, apple and a very nice mineral finish.

A very good customer brought me a bottle of Canadian craft beer. He comes down from Saskatchewan and buys cases of wine and beer to take back with him a few times a month.

Prairie Bomb from Prairie Artisan Ales.

An imperial stout aged on coffee, cacao nibs, vanilla beans and chili peppers. 13% ABV.
I really enjoyed this bottle. Well balanced and all the flavors come through. Even on my unsophisticated palate.
A little expensive. I think we retail it for $9.49 a bottle. My cost is $6.49.
Recommended.

Dogfish Head Fort. I heard about it on the radio and decided to go find it. $11 for a 12-ounce bottle. It's good...but not _that_ good. It is something like 16% ABV, though, and doesn't taste like it. Plenty smooth.

I think I've mentioned this before, but for anyone looking to ship alcohol I highly recommend Hi Time Wine. I have been using them for the past 3 years and every time they have been great.

They're in California and I order from Indiana and send to Florida and Indiana. There are some things that I can't get at my store or in Indiana.
Hi Time has a huge selection and the the customer service is excellent.

Seems to me that it'sphilip has had that one. We carry it in my store.
I really enjoy most everything Founders brews. Their porter is my favorite beer. The breakfast stout would be second.
Tonight, I had Lion Stout. A stout brewed in, of all places, Sri Lanka. I really like this Lion Stout.

Drum roll.... May I present my first "off the beaten path" beer bottle :
Unfortunately Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier was out of stock, only Weihenstephaner Original available. I've decided to try bottom below first.

First Impressions : A) Very surprisingly - ever so mildly carbonated, being Porter is mild on bitter and have nice flavour - I do like it, but honestly I prefer Belgian Ales which are next :)

I only looked though the last couple of pages but got to wondering if this was only for the beer & wine crowd. While I enjoy a good microbrew beer, I drink so infrequently that it can go bad before I can wipe out a 6 pack. Same story for me with wines, so I've taken to having a small stock of spirits.

Today, Jefferson's Ocean - Aged At Sea. Limited production, just a couple dozen barrels of the "Ocean 2" (this one Batch 19, Bottle 1930) which spend 6-7 years on a research vessel aging, crossing the equator many times and unlike sitting in an aging rack, getting "agitated" every now & then. Unique flavor, just a hint of salt but not something you can easily define.

Had some Goose Island Bourbon County stuff over the past couple of days-
Order of preference is:
Coffee imperial
Imperial
Regal Rye
All are at or near 100 point stouts and highly recommended.
Cheers, Mac
