My AR3a speakers are below the video screen. I replaced the original grill cloths with black grill cloths. The MBOw1-3way speakers are next to the AR3a speakers. I removed the jumper on the AR3a speakers to disconnect the midrange and tweeters. The AR3a speakers are powered by a NHT subwoofer amp and are crossed over at 80 Hertz. The AR3a speakers help to give the very low frequencies a boost.

Behind the black grill cloth in the center of the picture is a MBOw1 speaker that I use as a center speaker.

That looks great. And the AR's match the wood paneling beautifully. I love the classic AR cabinets, although it's really hard to find a pair in decent shape anymore.

Thanks Dennis.

You probably know this, but your MBOW1-3way speakers are "magic speakers". They sound clean, are never "in your face", they sound "big", and most of all-they image like crazy with a strong center image. Most people think that I am using a center speaker when they listen to those speakers play in stereo. Ha ha. By the way, I use your MBOW1 speaker as a center speaker when I play surround sound. They match great with the 3-ways.

I'm very happy to hear you're still enjoying them. These have the original Peerless woofer, right? The one that was discontinued because it was too good a buy? This was one of my favorite designs. I just kind of lost interest in it after the successor to the discontinued woofer wasn't quite up to snuff. OK--now you can tell me you have the crappy new woofer.

I built mine as soon as you posted their design. Mine have the original Peerless woofers. On certain songs I can face the speakers dead on, and even though the room is full of music, I swear that there is no sound coming directly from the speakers. It's as if the speakers disappeared.

You sound like every owner there was for these speakers or other DM designs, including myself :D. I've have a pair of CAOW1s I made, and have built a few pairs of MB20s or MB27s for family & friends.
