I installed some Klipsch in-wall speakers, and I painted the grills. There is a baffle / thin piece of film behind the grill, do you need to put that back in?

Also, where can I find th foam to insert behind the speaker to help minimize the sound from the bedroom behind the wall. I'm looking for some that are rated for in wall and fire retardant.

Put the speakers back together the way you found them!

If you're going to cut a hole in the wall, save yourself the trouble, and just do a floor-to-ceiling second layer of drywall on at least that back wall, or as many as you're willing! 'Tis the easiest and cheapest solution!

Drywall instead of the foam to muffle the sound? I only cut a hole about 6x12.

Also what about the baffle question.

First sentence: 'Put you speakers back together the way you found them!

Dry wall is just the easiest solution. It is remarkably effective at preventing sound from passing through. You don't need to make more holes that then have to be repaired so you can get the foam in. And foam in a 2x4 wall doesn't do much anyway!
