Thank God! My faith in humanity is restored, somewhat.

We’re happy to have you here, as long as you don’t go voting in the kind of politicians that made NJ the kind of place you want to leave.

No, we're not moving to Austin. ;)

Why do you think we're getting out of here? When they say NJ has the population density in the country, they aren't talking about the number of people per square mile.

Ah. Well, Austin is chock-full of the type of people that made NJ the kind of place you want to leave. If they had their way we'd be like NJ! So you might feel right at home or you might hate the place.

I'd suggest D/FW for a northerner. Not as hot, and they even get some snow every few years.

When are you moving?

Actually, we've bought a place in Brazos county. Have a son and three grandkids there. ...and one, and a grandkid, in Gainesville, a cousin in Plano and one in Paradise, and know lots of people in Corpus.

Austin is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. We love The Continental Club, Waterloo Records, The Book People, SoCo, Zilker park and, oh yeah, can't forget Salt Lick.

...but we wouldn't want to live there. Living in a bowl of granola is fine in short bursts but I couldn't do it full time.

I hear ya. I just noticed that I mis-read your earlier post as saying you were moving to Austin.

I did some work at the campus in College Station a few years ago during the summer, and I like that area. Far enough away from the coast that you don’t get all the humidity that we get here in Houston. Much better climate overall, and more scenic than the Houston flat lands, too. My favorite restaurant there is Fish Daddy’s.

Welcome to Texas!

Don't forget The County Line. Great smoked meat!
