Hello All,

My current set up is a 3.1 using Salk Song Towers QWT for my L/R, Salk Song Center front ported, SVS PB1000, and Yamaha RX-A840. There are no plans in the near future to upgrade to 5.1 or 7.1. I am enjoying the sound this system is producing but the more threads I read the more I am thinking I might not be getting all I can from my speakers. The song towers are rated 80-250 state watts and the song center 100-250 watts. My Yamaha is only rated for 100 watts per channel. Am I getting the best out of my speakers with my current set up or is there another component that can be added to improve it?

Thanks for any feedback.
Frank

100W is more than enough for most situations. Don't worry. Just enjoy.

I agree w/ ADTG above. However, an audioholic would get a separate amp, maybe in the neighborhood of 200-250wpc. He would likely never hear any difference, but he would be absolutely sure he was getting the most out of his system... until the next "upgrade". ;)

BTW, you have a wonderful system now! Cheers!

Very true.

Pragmatic is one thing. But his hobby is a lot more about the senses than the sensibility. :D

I do have 4 ATI amps and 1 sub amp (BEFORE I became a dealer for ATI). :D

I also have a $7500 pre-pro, even though I recommend to all my friends to just get an Denon X4100 AVR for $800. :D

Thanks AcuDefTechGuy and herbu, if an amp is not going to make a noticeable difference then I'll wait to get one. Ill save for a turn table and a 2nd sub in the meantime.
