i want more power to my fronts, should i pair up my Denon AVRX4100W with a Cervin Vega

would this work or just a waste of money?

or should i just get this one instead?

The amp has fans, but if you listen at very loud level you probably won't hear the noise. If you listen to classical music a lot then I would say no. I assume they are low cost so why not try it out as long as they have a return policy. The X7200 is a high cost solution and will get you 15 to 20% more power, hardly worth it.

For cheaper options, I would try something like a Crown XLS amp.

But why do you want more power in the first place?

when i pull out the subwoofer the bass drops and the fronts sound so poorly, so it feels like the towers dont have the power, cos when you get a NAD amp with ability to boost bass it can blast away more then a sub..so i think i need an amp to get more power to the 2 bass elements on the speakers

When you disconnect the Subwoofer, the bass from your tower should drop. Most towers' bass sound anemic compared to subwoofer bass. It's probably not because your amp is inadequate. It's just your speakers or lack of bass EQ.

Are you using Audyssey XT32 Dynamic EQ?

If 2.1 sounds much better, just stick to it. Why pull out the Subwoofer?

just using the reference on the audyssey and pumping up the bass freq on the EQ dont help much :( well the towers can play proper with a good amp but im a bit annoyed they sound so bad without the sub

Try Reference Level Offset of Zero (0). Increase the Trim Level (speaker channel level) by +3.0 or more (like +6.0, +9.0). Of course, turn on Dynamic EQ and see if that helps.

When towers don't sound very good without the help of subwoofer bass, it is usually NOT because the towers need more power.

It's usually because you need different full-range towers, like ones with ACTIVE bass control that allows you to adjust the bass.

My towers have active bass control. I use Audyssey XT Dynamic EQ for bass EQ. And the bass quality (punchy, dynamic, musical) from my towers is better than any subwoofer I have ever owned.

But many towers are unable to reproduce bass that is as punchy and dynamic as some subs.

Is there a reason you DON'T want to use the Subwoofer?
