I have a pioneer vsx-52
i recently purchased a smart tv and installed myself as usual, I fear i must have plugged the tv or ??? in a differnt port . My proble is my zone 2 is not working.
it will work if i have the receiver tuned to tuner, My goal is to get it to play Pandora throught the smart tv.
If i tune it to tuner and have zone 2 on i can hear the static come through but can not get zone one to tune to the tuner. only zone 2.
i have tried everything i know as far as the receiver goes. I am thinking it must be a wrong hook up somewhere in the back of the receiver with the tv.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
HELP ME !!

Do you use a digital audio link between the TV and the receiver? Many receivers won't send a digital signal out to zone 2, but analog signals are no problem, as evidenced by the fact that the tuner works.

If you can run an analog audio link from the TV to the receiver, hopefully your problem will be solved.

I use wireless headphones with my Zone 2. Have to use analog outputs from Bluray player to AVR for Zone 2 to play w/ a CD or BD. Also have to use analog outputs from SAT receiver to AVR to play TV on Zone 2.

It can make your connections seem a bit strange. Here's what I mean...
To play TV through the HT and Zone 2:
I select Cbl/Sat for the Home Theater. (It uses the HDMI connections.)
But I ran the analog cables from SAT rcvr to the "Media Player" inputs on the AVR. So I select Zone 2 "Media Player" to listen to TV on Zone 2.

Similarly, I ran analog cables from the Bluray outputs to the AVR "CD" inputs. So I select Zone 2 "CD" to listen to the Bluray player on Zone 2.

The point is, I need analog inputs to the AVR, and analog outputs from the AVR to use Zone 2 independently of the Main Zone. I think there is a way to use Zone 2 w/o the analog inputs, but only if you want it always playing the same thing as Main Zone. I didn't really study that part in the manual.
