still looking for help

hi all this is the problem i am having no sound from sub but if i hook my iphone to the sub it works and if i plug a cord from the preout to the sub (while the light is green) i get a humming and if i do a test tone i hear it with the humming then after about a minute the light goes red but that is the only time i get sound any ideas?
all speakers are set to small and its at 80 hz(thx) the lfe is set to sub (options for front both sub) i have 2 front 1 center and 2 back for speakers.Now when i first got it the sub didnt work i did a factory reset and it worked but i was looking around playing setting it was new to me and it stopped and dont know when but hasn't worked since

You say it worked when you did a factory reset until you experimented with the settings. I see three options here.

1) Undo whatever changes you made. You made 'em, not us. We don't know what you did.

2) Do another factory reset.

3) If neither of these work, and you're positive it's not a subwoofer problem, then the receiver needs servicing.

Friendly hint: When plugging and unplugging interconnects and speakers, have the power turned off.

I don't have the ypao but I am trying to get it but this what I tried and results I hooked up the iPhone got it working then plugged in the Preout and get humming sound and I faintly hear the the booms from the movie (transformers) then the sub shuts off I have done a reset

Not sure I understand. Do you mean the mic that comes with the receiver?

I agree with Mark.
Do another factory reset.
Take a pen and paper and only change one setting at a time. List them as you make them.
Let us know precisely what happened when.
