I'm setting up a general purpose speaker system in my basement. The room is 8'x15' with low ceilings at 6'6". I have run wires for 4 in ceiling speakers. The TV will be centred on the 15' wall. I want to keep the speakers in line with the pot lights in the room. They will be equal distances (right and left)from the TV. Will I get good listening quality from this symmetrical configuration? I will also have a centre under the TV and a sub.

You won't get good sound from in-ceiling mains.

Careful placement of ceiling speakers used as the front stage is futile. There's only so much that turd can be polished. Are you planning to put your receiver / blu-ray player / etc. in a TV stand? Would it be possible to use this TV stand instead? You'd get better sound from that than from any ceiling-mounted main LR speakers.
