AV Receiver down

... Forgive me I am a novice ... I am not an Engineer ....

I have a Pioneer VSX-32 7.1 Channel AVR that we have been enjoying for just over 4 years that recently stopped digital throughput to Home theater system and my 2nd channel of distributed sound throughout the home with outside speakers. The only feature that is producing is Internet Radio. Therefore, I suspect the HDMI Board has gone bad.

My Sound System is Martin Logan and distributed Bose Speakers.

Q: Should I or can I have the AVR efficiently (cost effective) repaired? If not any suggestions on a mid-range AVR that can provide 110W x 7 channels (20Hz -20Hz, 8 Ohms)?

Suggestions or help would be appreciated.

did u test the AM/FM tuner? other components (CD player, tape, phono, etc.)? do a system reset? verify that the HDMI input/output cables are not the issue? they do fail occasionally.

Personally I'm a fan of the Yamaha Aventage line of AVR's but you'll find all kinds of fans here; Denon, Marantz, Anthem, Rotel, etc. recommending why u should buy their preferred brand. good luck. hopefully a reset or replacing a defective HDMI cable does the trick.
