Greetings all.
I will be setting up my home theater soon and plan on running wiring to all 7 speakers out the wall and up into my attic to be dropped down to each speaker. This will be a monumental task but well worth it.
Since i will be crawling around in a hot messy place for hours, I want to be sure and run the proper wire ONCE......I cannot screw up and put cheap or too small or just crappy wire up there.
So my question to all is for maximum sound quality and permanency, What would you all recommend. I bought a Yamaha RX-V777 and have not yet purchased surround speakers. still doing research on what to buy. any input on that would be appreciated as well.
Thanks to all

How long are the wire runs?

From Yamaha but this kind of a universal chart anyway..

So plan for worst case impedance (ohms) and your longest run and buy the appropriate sized wire.

You will also need in-wall rated wire in most cases.

In-wall rated wire, 12-ga. if you can afford it, it not then 14-ga. At the equipment location you might also want to drop a coax cable for broadcast TV, satellite, a phone line, etc.

You can find an article in my signature with lots of for tips in-wall wiring.
