Hello,

I am new to audioholics. I just bought a new Sony 4K TV, and, for now, I would like to add some decent sound to it. I am looking for recommendations for a decent sound component that will be adequate for the next six months or so.

Thank you

Hey Tim,

Congrats on the new TV. We need a little more information to help you piece together some audio components. What is your budget? How large is the room in cubic feet or w*l*h? How far away from the TV do you sit? Why only the next 6 months or so? Where are you located -- in which city, state / country / whatever?

Hello, I am not trying to spend more than $1,000 in total. This is going in my basement and I live in a old home in the DC area. We are trying to avoid hiring a contractor and incurring construction cost. The room where the TV is a rectangular room that is approximately 21' x 12' and the TV is going along one of the shorter walls. The ceiling height is 7'8"

Not knowing what involv3ment you're willing to make in this, ZVOX proviesa excellent one-box, minimum wiring, answers to your situation. It's kind of a sound bar, but a bit simpler and, IMNSHO, a simpler and more elegant solution

These aren't the equal to a true component system but, given your budget and lack of clarity as to exactly what you want, they will work great. A perfect "sound device".

If we are going that route, then I would also suggest a look at the Dayton TV Stand With Integrated Audio.

I don't know anything about this, the sound quality, if it's worth the asking price, etc.

All I'm saying is that it seems like an elegant solution that has been on my radar. So the grunt work is up to someone else.
