I know very little about AV - please help!

Just bought a new Yamaha rx v675 receiver, which is a 2 zone receiver. There are 3 speaker zones set up in the house (1 family room, 2 living room, 3 outside).
Audio sources include: AirPlay (via the receiver), Tuner (via the receiver), and a CD Player

1. What additional equipment do I need to use the zone 3 (outside)?
-I have been I need an additional amp, switch, ?
2. Will the zone 3 play the same audio in one of the other zones? Or can it be independent of zones 1 and 2 with the additional equipment?
3. Will each zone have the ability to use the available audio sources described above?
4. Is there a place/site to show me how all of this should be connected?

Any help is much appreciated!

I don't think you can simply expand a receiver like you want. The best I can see you doing is to use a pair of "Y" splitters on the zone two out and drive a separate power amp for that. In such case, your "zone 3" will always play exactly what zone 2 does.

If that doesn't meet your needs and you want separate control over zone 3, then since you "just bought" it, pack it up and take/send it back and buy a proper three zone receiver.

Sorry you didn't like the truth, drake.

Thanks for the thumbs down. I think my reputation will survive.

Do you always act so immaturely when things aren't what you want?

Hey, you're the cwybaby here. And we all see it.

You ask a question, I give you a good, truthful answer. It not what you wanted so you throw a tantrum.

Begs the question, why didn't you get a 3 zone receiver?
Hope you have a day job...

He won’t be back, agar. He’s one of those “drive-by posters” who sign up just to ask a question and you never hear from them again, typically not even a “thanks for the help” reply. This one has the distinction of also being a liar, because he said “Any help is much appreciated.”
