I don't think there would be any harm in trying the Infinity speakers if you could buy them with a reasonable assurance that you can return them if they fail the audition. They're 8 ohm, and the stock Aiwa speakers are 6 ohm. Unknown whether the Aiwa electronics employ any sort of contrived EQ to squeeze more range out of the bundled speakers, though. In any case, buying a new receiver or active speakers would certainly give you more headroom.
