A couple of years ago, I was seriously considering an upgrade to my trusted Denon 3805. The 2 models above were my 2 main contenders, but as so often happens, life kind of got in the way. Now I'm back in the hunt, and I noticed that there is residual inventory for both at Amazon at giant discounts from the original MSRP ($750-$799 currently). I really like the 7-channel analog inputs on the Marantz, but just noticed it doesn't have any DSP processing, if I read right. I really like listening to 2-channel audio in 7-channel stereo mode on the Denon so that might be a dealbreaker. Can anybody confirm that? Seems odd not to have that on a model that retailed for $1700 originally.
Is there anything out new in the 700-800 price range that competes with the specs on these 2 models? Seems like Yamaha is the people's favorite for an affordable integrated receiver these days.
