Is it me, or is the argument coming from the advertisers ridiculous? I pay for my bandwidth and it's my right to block advertising just like it's my right to change the channel when an ad comes on. Things are starting to feel like Episode 2 of Black Mirror.

I cringe at most internet pages whenever I use stock browser and see pages filled with ads to the brim.
It's especially worse for mobile devices, where screen real estate is usually lacking

I go out of my way to not visit web pages with obnoxious ads. Even more so, I go even further out of my way not to by products from companies that are making these ads. I hope the power of the dollar, or the lack thereof, will drive change.

That said, I think advertising is great for many sites; maybe even this one. The money received for the ads helps support and improve the site. The only drawback is I don't believe the proprietors of sites using adware can choose which products are advertised on their site. If it was my site, there are a few things and/or companies which I would not want their ads to appear.
