Will we see a Yamaha Aventage CX-A5000 Successor soon?

Really digging the CX/MX-A5000 combo and it has 99% of what I want, BUT I've noticed that it doesn't have Atmos. Now, while I realize Atmos doesn't have THAT much content yet and isn't that huge of deal, I still think Atmos is kind of fun and hoping to future proof my new setup at least a little bit.

Yamaha and others already seem to have plenty of other options that have Atmos, but couldn't find any in their pre/pro combo lines. I haven't fully decided 100% on going with separates, but the CX-A5000 kind of has me leaning toward that direction. Also not 100% certain I'm going with Yamaha. I've always been a fan, but I'm not brand specific since we have so many great brands to choose from!

Am I missing something? Have my Google search skills failed me yet again?

I think they are waiting for the DTS X announcement before announcing if their will be a firm ware upgrade for their current separates. Hopefully something will be announced by the end of April.

Oh yeah! That makes sense. Can't wait to hear it! Funny the timing of my post, as apparently a bunch of news is starting to be released about DTS:X.

I just read this. http://www.cnet.com/news/dtsx-takes-on-dolby-atmos/
CNET said:
DTS says it has agreements with "nearly 90 percent of the home AVR and surround processor market" and that products would begin launching in early summer of 2015. These include:
  • Denon - AVR-X7200W available now / DTS:X firmware upgrade later in 2015
  • Integra - launching several models by fall 2015
  • Marantz - AV8802 available now / DTS:X firmware upgrade later in 2015
  • Onkyo - launching several models by fall 2015
  • Pioneer - to be announced
  • Yamaha - launching DTS:X ready models in fall 2015
DTS says that the 2015 DTS:X receivers can support up to 11.2 speaker output channels in up to 32 different speaker locations.
Looks like it's going to be a good year to upgrade after all!

WOOHOO! That's exactly what I wanted to hear! Thanks, Gene! So stoked to see what DTS has in store for us with getting X in our HTs. :)

Any news on this? I can't find any (preliminary) info on the internet?

I'm sold! Now, what amps do you guys recommend to run an 11.2 speaker setup, besides the Yamaha MX 5000? I currently have an Emotiva XPR-3. I am thinking about Parasound, Rotel, NAD, or even more Emotiva. I have an Onkyo TX NR 5009 running my theater now with the Emotiva running the fronts. I have the itch to upgrade. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
