Need some advice

Hi everyone, I'm new here and have a difficult dilemma to face in regards to my new setup. Let me first start with my equipment, which is undergoing installation at this very moment. I have an Yamaha AV receiver RX-740 Aventage, with Polk Audio speakers - 2 Tsi 400s, one center channelCS10, 2 tsi100s for the surround sound, and last but not least a /JBL Sub ES250PBK. My Tv is the new Samsung Curved 65" and it is mounted above the fireplace wall, which is the genesis of my dilemma. I cannot fit my CS10 under the TV and the only place to put it would be on top of it. However the looks would not go with the rest of the room and I can't find a slanted shelf to place it on either. Here is my question: The wall is 35 inches thick and behind is my office, so I wanted to cut a box inside the wall and make an inside slanted shelf, kind of like an indentation insiude the wall so i can place the speaker, however I am afraid that would affect the sound of my center channel speaker, will it?. Any thoughts or solutions? I thought about getting the polk audio tl3s instead but don't know if that would be a good idea. I need help!!!

Hi guys, thanks for all your comments, I've posted a picture of where the TV is so you could see how the only place for my CS10 polks is on top of it. Now the CS10 is a good 10-11 inches deep, so my plan is to cut a shelf on the inside of that wall, like a recessed drywall shelf or opening, that way I will have plenty of room to place the speaker and also to angle it downwards. What do you guys think?

By the way that cable is a IR repeater I just ran from the closet across the room where all my components will be, it will look super clean.

Your cs10 appears to be rear ported.
If you sink it into the wall, you need to provide clearance such that the port will not be constricted and will have a clear route for the sound to get into your room. That might look worse than mounting the speaker on the wall.
I'm not sure about diffraction concerns from having the speaker tucked into the wall.

Are you sure you can't raise the tv? My mount had vertical bars that attached directly to the tv and had many bolt holes to change height.

Try setting up your system without the center. I'm sure your Yammy has the capability to reroute from missing center to l and r.

If you can return the ls3, you could always give it a try.

Since the TV is angled down, there's a little bit of clearance between the top of the TV and the wall. I wonder whether there's enough clearance for a center stage bracket. How many inches between the wall and the back of the top of the TV?

Or if nothing else, you could always do what this cat did (although it's unclear why he didn't use the mount tube as a conduit to hide the wire).

Hi Kurt, Thanks for the reply man. Since that wall is 35 inches deep, the recessed open area will be like 24 inches wide, 24 inches deep and 12 inches high, so there will be enough room to place 2 cs10s inside therefore allowing it plenty of room for it to breathe. I would also make sure the speaker will sit slightly in front of the wall to avoid deflection. so it would not be flushed in the wall, it would be like having a indentation as a decorative peace, like something my wife would place a vase or something, LOL.
I think it is the only option. Now I could lift the TV by quite a bit actually, but the mantle is only 8 inches deep and I need it to be at least 13 inches in order to place the cs10 on it.

Rojo, I have about 8 inches from the wall into the TV, I don't think the center stage bracket would work would it?? I have not found one deeper than 10 inches. BTW that picture you posted of the CS10 hanging from the ceiling is not bad!!!! ki wonder how he secured it to the speaker?

Do you plan on using two CS10 speakers in that space, or do you mean there will be plenty of space for one?

Hi guys, thanks for the huge help. I finally found a ceiling bracket that I liked and it turned out to work great!!! I also lucked out to have a studs dead center in the ceiling. What do you guys think?
