Just a question...
I got this NAD 7225PE for the overnight sensations attached to my PC, the problem is I forget to turn it off cause I keep it under my desk (my cat loves to sleep on it cause it is warm. :p). What is the power draw on this? Will it drive my electricity bill up?
Oh it is 25 watts per channel into 2 channels.

If you look for a product label on the back, it will sometimes tell you the power draw that you want to know.

Assuming that this is class AB, those are ~75% efficient. So, a crude calculation suggests that an output of 50W consumes 66W from the mains.

But, short answer, I wouldn't worry about the power bill much. I would worry more about taking working lifer away from the amp. In reality, problem not much of a concern for either.

If there's no signal being fed to it, I'd suppose it's minimal, about the same as a clock.

(my cat loves to sleep on it cause it is warm. :p).
Cats can make pretty good insulation. Is the cat blocking vents. Either way, if the cat is directly on the amp, you might want to shoo it off after a while and get a quick temperature reading where the cat was.

I don't understand cats and heat. Even when the temperature is in the upper 90's - 100's, when I get home, our cat will immediately jump up on my hood and lay there soaking up heat from the engine.

Good to know. Yeah when I see her on their I turn it off right away. Doesn't make her leave right away, but eventually it cools down and she will take off.
Thanks guys :)

Let it sit without signal for a while and put your hand on the top- if it's hot, it's wasting money and if it's cool, it's not. Energy wasted creates heat.

There's a neighborhood cat that will hang around and wait for people to come home from work, then when they go inside, it will get right up on that crack between the hood and windshield. It will go do this all the way down the block!

Dang cat!
