Hi guys,
I am setting up a new system in my small bedroom for music and movie from my laptop and classical music from turntable Audio Technica AT-LP60. I already bought Philharmonic Affordable Accuracy bookshelf and Dayton sub-1000, but I don't know which receiver to buy with budget around 200.

I am not considering home theater in the near future. So stereo receiver/integrated amps&DAC Vs. AV receiver, which is better? Is stereo receiver worth the money in this price range? I found used Yamaha RX-V 661/2400 for around 180$ and a4l has R-S500 for 280$. Anything else to recommend? Thank you in advance for any suggestion!

How are you going to connect your laptop? To the AVR and it outputs to the TV or directly to the TV? DO you have a highdef video card on your lpatop?

The video card on my laptop is Nvidia GT 650. I don't have TV; just watch movie on my laptop.

Do you want to route the audio from the PC to the receiver as well? Does the card only have DVI outputs? BTW, you are smart to go the used route.

The RX-V 661/2400 are AVR receivers used for home theater. The 2400 has a stellar amp/power supply but it seems a little big for your application.

An integrated amp would work great if it has a USB in to connect from your PC but I don't know if you can get one with a phono stage for your budget.
