A little higher on the mileage than I'd like, but it has that split color style and the body is in excellent shape. I already had new tires, rear brakes, struts, belt hoses, and engine valve cover. This car rides extremely well.

It's an under-stressed, well-engineered Camry underneath, so 300K miles is attainable. Don't forget about transmission and steering rack maintenance.

How many miles are on it?

Check Engine light came on this morning and the engine wasn't running well. Praying it's nothing major.

Doing any self diagnosis like taking it somewhere and have the codes read?

Nice car. Sucks about the CEL. I'm guessing it was purchased from an individual rather than a dealership, which means no warranty. No warranty is a bummer :(

Was a VVT failure. It's a common issue at 180k for Lexus cars from this generation. Got a a leaky oil pan gasket and the power steering pump is on the rocks. Went ahead and had my mechanic replace it all. Those gaskets and power steering pump are a major PITB on these cars.

There's a reason you still see so many of those cars on the road. Things like the above will happen, but seriously, drive it gently and as stated, change your transmission fluid annually. It'll go well beyond 300k. Its a Toyota!

Not sure this thing can be driven rough. Mazda was definitely much faster off the line and passing. That said the sunroof, temperature control, and leather are nice. The leather needs some redying and cleaning.

I have a 2003 GX470 and it's a great car. Only major repair I had done was the front end bearings that was $350.00 and it's got 166.000 miles on it and still runs great. Good luck with your new purchase.
