Quick X4000 question

I'm looking for feedback from X4000 owners.

I picked up a refurb X4000. Most everything checks out great. But, when I change sources, or fast forward, or skip chapters, etc, there is a slight "pop" or "puff" from the speakers. It happens whether muted or not. And it is pretty quiet - I wouldn't hear it from another room.

Its not the relays in the the amp (which do click over), but it comes from the speakers. I own a Denon 988 that doesn't do anything like it.

Is this normal operation? Just concerned there may be something amiss that gets worse in the future.

Appreciate any feedback from X4000 owners.

Thanks!

I presume you’re talking about a Denon receiver? It’s unreasonable to expect us to be able to recognize every A/V product ever made from a partial model number.

That said, Dolby Digital processors only work with an active signal, which ceases momentarily when you skip chapters, fast forward etc. It’s not unusual to hear a sound of some kind when the processor engages and disengages. However, it’s something I’d expect from budget receivers, not something in the price range of this one.

I've had the X4000 for probably a year or so, use it almost every day. I have never heard what you describe.

Thanks for your feedback guys. I called Denon and they are exchanging my unit with a replacement. Hopefully this next one will work well.
