Does anyone else experience major slow down (script errors) when using Windows IE 11 and this website. It happens both and my home PC, laptop and work PC (That is windows 7).

I know most of you will say why are you using IE11, I have Chrome / FF on my PC as well, but it is still my goto browser.?

After browsing this site for a few, it almost always causes my windows to crash, I have reset my windows multiple times, removed add ons, still no luck.

Just curious?

No one's here to criticize browser choices...

I use Opera, and I've been getting flash errors a lot lately. Thought it was fixed with my last Java and Flash player update, but the problem has since come back. I don't get any slowdowns, though. These things usually get fixed rather quickly, because they are annoying, but slowdowns can be worrying.

I suggest you run a few AV scans, F-secure, Avast or Housecall, just to be safe.... This thread shouldn't be in this segment of the forum, though...

I have fully patched windows 8.1 and IE11. I see crapload of ads while using IE, but no script errors.
Some minor slowdowns on page loads, but nothing since then.
quick specs: Core i5 2500k, 8gb ram, intel 310 ssd and 100/35 internet connection

p.s: Cheerios ads??

It's definitely not my system. I75930 16GB DDR4 2400 Ram SLI 290x Video Cards.

I use Malwarebytes and have Norton 360 on my system with regular updates and checks, so I have taken that piece out of the mix.

It could be norton av messing things up. I would not be surprised at all. Win8.1 includes defender (ex security essentials) with careful practice and using Chrome for most sites and heavily script restricted FF on "gray" sites i don't need a separate av software, especially not from worst vendor ever - Symantec

I would think Norton would also impact my other browsers if that were the case. The same problem is replicated with Windows 7 and my Work Laptop, which does not use Norton. It also affects my personal laptop, but that is 8.1 again :)

Not necessarily. Chrome and Ff are very strict on what and how plug-in affect browser. IE11 is still has old IE8 rendering engine

i just checked the site and forum with IE11 and have no issues whatsoever. I suggest deleting you install of IE. Run a program called RKILL, then run MBAM and reinstall IE.

Slow down yes but no crashing as such, but it could get really slow. I like IE11 better in general but due to the slow down issue I am forced to use Google Chrome but only for this site. No such problem when I was still using IE9.

Agree, and like Cos, I have this issue at my office, in the lab, and at home. A couple of other forums I've visited have the same problem. Instead of it being an IE11 issue, I wonder if it's a programming issue from who ever designed this forum software? Perhaps they didn't thoroughly check it out with IE11?

Issue is not affected, at least on my system, by the changes made, just need to remember to use Firefox when I go to this site until Windows 10 come out

In interesting turn of events, my IE completely craped out, unrelated to the website, the only way I was able to fix it was to reinstall windows 8.1. So far it is working well on this site, I have minimal add-ons running

I have a lot of trouble at home, windows 8.1. It works good for a bit, and then after going to different threads it finally freezes up. I close it out, reopen in a new tab, and Im good for a bit. Then, I repeat process.
