Analog audio switch box?

I was just curious if there is anything i can do to bypass my receiver for when playing audio off my macbook air. Right now it goes in this order.

Macbook air -> emotive xda-2 -> anthem mrx 300 -> emotiva xpa-2 -> focal speakers.

what i want to do is be able to bypass the anthem. so i could go behind and unplug the audio cables from the amp and plug the xda-2 ones into it. but then I'm doing that everyday. So I'm wondering if they make a switch box. and if they do whats the quality like? will i be loosing? and the the only option is to disconnect and reconnect? Ive been thinking about a way to do this for some time now. Also if anyone knows much about it. The only input i can get into the xda is 44.1khz all the time. It never changes even if i play a flac file or a youtube video.

Hi. If it were me, I'd get something like this switch from Monoprice. Fairly inexpensive at about $20, and I'm been happy with their products. It even comes with a remote.

ahh i looked at moonrise but i guess in the wrong section. Would i loose any quality using that do you think? or do you even think i will gain anything? i guess for that price i could try it out. I think I'm just going from digital to analog signal then back into digital in my anthem. So it almost beats the whole purpose other then my receiver won't accept usb in

I've never used that switch (or, if memory serves, any like it), so I don't know if you'd lose any quality. I suspect that you wouldn't...but I can't say for sure. At ~$20, I think it's probably worth a try to satisfy your curiosity. Plus, I'm usually a big fan of making things easier.

You're going from the DAC to the digitalin on the Anthem? Why? The whole point of using ANY DAC is to avoid using the other one. When you use a DAC, you go from its analog output to an analog input on whatever is doing the switching. You probably won't find a better analog switch than what's already in a receiver. Are you using any other signal manipulation in the Anthem? If not, why is it there- for HDMI and digital source switching?
