Has the hair grown back over your lobotomy scar yet? :D
Sorry, big guy. Couldn't resist. Have a great first "retired" Christmas!!!
I wish, I would take any extra hair I could get, lol, one of the side effects of having synthetic testosterone in your body is balding, and that one didn't skip me,...

I am REALLY enjoying this Xmas, I am normally so busy this time of year with work its sicking and anytime I get I sleep, I am going to make up for the xmas's I spent in a customers basement installing an emergency boiler {3 of them}, the 2 I spent out of state because weather wouldn't let me fly home in time, and the others I slept through because I was working until 4 am and had to be back at work that night... I'm gonna make it up times 10... I even talked the wife into letting my oldest son take his girlfriend with us...

Good for you!!! One thing to watch for... when you retire, some friends & family think, "Oh good! Now that Irv is retired, he has plenty of time, so he can do...". It's easy to get pushed into doing stuff you really don't want to do. I'm completely convinced that is the reason why a lot of retired people tell you, "My calendar stays full and I am so busy". :D So my suggestion, whenever someone asks how you like retirement, you say, "Great, but my calendar stays full and I am busier now than when I was working". It sets the stage for a graceful decline of some request later. :D

That reminds me - now that you have plenty of time, want to come install a tankless water heater?

Does the Amazon Fire TV or stick allow you to globally search for a show?
For example, if I want to watch a certain show, can I search all of the services at once and get a result that it is available on Netflix and Hulu?
Roku introduced this in 2012, so I would expect/hope Amazon to match it. I have read that Fire TV's speech search is limited to Amazon, but don't know about a text entered search.

Trying to decide between Roku and Fire TV. Any thoughts are appreciated!

Well now when people ask me to do stuff I just say "I signed a non compete", lol... but seriously, I don't think it will be a problem outside of my family, as far as inside the family goes, I have younger brothers and 2 young strong sons, so they can do anything that needs to be done, lol... I already put my time in..

only if you live somewhere that I can tell my wife we are going for a vacation, lol... Although I think she is already sick of traveling, a friend of ours just bought a mini mansion in south east florida and invited us to come and spend a some time with them, she politely declined and said she can't take another flight... These friends of ours have a silly amount of money, they have full time help, we stayed with them for a week when they lived in vermont, it was better than a hotel, they had full time cook staff, housekeeping, and a driver. I got out of the pool and there was someone there wrapping a towel around me !!!!! We went out one night the 4 of us and came home around 2am, his wife texted someone at the house because I was saying how good a grill cheese would be right now, we pulled in and walked to the kitchen there was 6 grill cheese sandwiches on the counter on a platter!!! I ate 4 of them and my buddy ate the other 2... It was an experience that is for sure. I posted a picture on here of his Home theater a while back, the house they just sold in vermont was in the 4's and they almost kept it just because...

Anyway, Just call me up and Ill talk you through that install...

Thanks!

I'm sure that your wife would love a trip to sunny Tucson right about now! :D I'm not sure that you'd want to compare my house to a hotel, though. Then again, it might be close to a hotel if you bring a black light. ;) :D

No it does not, at least the last time I used mine. I wrote a review a while back, which probably needs a little updating

So I hooked up the amazon plug in stick, and it works, same as the box unit, I personally don't see a difference, in speed or picture quality.. The remotes are different, there is no voice command on this one, which I do like on the other remote but is more of a toy than a "need' of any sort.

I am watching an episode of house on it right now, I would love one of these just for music... A little dongle that has a pair of rca's that plug right into your preamp as a source... have the remote have a 4" screen that lets you choose your music...

The biggest benefits for me for stick are: better wifi, allows to play local media ether with Plex or (easily) sideloaded kodi/xbmc. Both work quite good. Limits of kodi on stick is audio bitstreaming is limited to DD and DTS only. Otherwise its really good. I almost can't tell any lag.

Thanks for you mini review. As for last part - it is possible. Stick into for example slim marantz avr.
Kodi on stick and remote app on smartphone or tablet and you got your wishes.
