I made the mistake of showing my wife the Ergotron dual monitor setup.
I blame you:D
The Ergatron monitors are awesome. I love the one I have and was thinking of doing the dual monitor one, but wasn't sure a 27" and a 28" would fit on it since it says in the specs that it only fits two 24" or less. So I might end up with two more of what I already have. Either way, definitely get it.

The specs say a total of 40lbs max. My two 24" don't come close to that.
They a have a warehouse very close to me.
Due here Monday.

For me, it's not the weight, it's the size of the monitors. I'd need to double check to make sure I wouldn't lose any mobility having two monitors that are larger than it's spec'd.

Enjoy that mount and post pictures so I can see what it looks like in the wild :D

Crappy picture and I definitely want to get a mount for it, but it looks pretty darn good. I'm trying out one of the viewing modes, but I'm not thrilled with it solely because it doesn't allow me to adjust the brightness manually. Thinking about turning it off.

Looking good bro. Where is the printer? Is that it in white on the floor?

Thanks man, yea the laser is on the floor and the ink is on top of it. I'm running the inkjet until the last cartridges are done then I'll switch over to the laser. The darn laser is so big I have no other place for it other than the floor.

Monday the second monitor gets here. Then I'll be able to run the 3 big monitors and not have to open the laptop at all. Then the last piece of the puzzle will be to get the old laptop fixed.

Hey, Fuzz. Looks really nice.

I don't know if you read my review on that monitor (well, its little brother), but I mention setting the HDMI Black Level from "low" to "normal" based on an online review that I'd read. I don't know if that would have anything to do with the brightness issue that you mentioned. You may need to go through a procedure to get your Mac to recognize it as a monitor and not a TV, and if so, check out the site here for the instructions that I followed to get that working on mine.

Hey, I switched the black level and that helped a bit. I went through the procedure and now it's reading it as a monitor and not a tv, but it didn't give me any more options when I go into the display preferences. I ended up just doing a factory reset and figured out how to manually adjust the brightness settings and a few other little tweaks through the laborious process of the little toggle switch on the back.

On the bright side I think it looks pretty darn good for all the effort. I'm not sure the curved bit makes any difference whatsoever, but it looks cool to f%$# it :D

The boys are back. This time around, I'm just going to streamline things and probably throw them in some flat pack boxes from DIY sound group.

Hey, that was the best picture I could find. It's better than the one with me dressed as Asian Tarzan.
What is that pic really from? It seems familiar, but I can't place it.

Some old comedy series?

I have no idea. I googled Asian banana or some such thing and that popped up. I found it to be a fair likeness so of course I had to make it my avatar. :D

There are still wires to sort out and clean up, but it's late and I'm tired so it'll have to wait until another day. Plus not having a monitor mount for the other two is irritating me.

That's a good amount of screen real estate that you've got there, Fuzz. :)

How did you end up connecting the third monitor? Did you use the USB adapter, or were you able to daisy chain one of the Thunderbolt connections?

Right now I'm using the USB adapter, but my experiment for tonight is to try the monitor hooked up directly to the HDMI. If it's a night and day difference, then I'll send the adapter back and look into a miniDP to HDMI connector.

Well, the test went well. Which means the USB 3.0 is going back and I'll try to daisy chain from the RAID storage. MiniDP to HDMI, which I hope works.

BSA proves yet again that he is much smarter than I.
