Or sell the Orion's to me for $3000 o_O
Own the Linkwitz Orion for less than the price of the Phil3. That's a good bargain. :D

No, I'm at a point where I'm getting lazier and lazier every day about selling them and soon I will probably just remove the sale listing. I think I will just let the Craigslist listing expire and as soon as the eBay listing expires, that is it too. :D

Anyway, I'm ready to say that I think the RBH SX-T2/R sounds better than the Linkwitz Orion. :D

And that I haven't heard any other speaker that sounds better than the SX-T2/R. ;)

Now the interesting comparison would be between the SX-T2/R ($12K MSRP) vs. the SX-T2 ($8K MSRP).

I haven't heard the T2 in a few years, but even back then, I was willing to say that the $8K T2 sounded better than any speaker I've ever heard.

But possibly the best bang for the buck overall is the $5K MSRP SX-8300. Street price brings it down to about $3500/pair. The $5900 MSRP SX-8300/R (street price probably $4100) may be viewed as superior for only about $600 more in street price.

I have not done a head-to-head comparison between the SX-T2/R vs SX-8300/R. But my instinct tells me there may be some diminishing returns, as with all speakers great and small.

Maybe should have gone with the 8300 instead of the 6300. I might have been done shopping.

Something tells me it's not in your cards to be done shopping yet no matter what speakers you buy. :)

I wasn't done until I bought about a dozen sets of speakers. :)

But one of these days you will be done shopping.

I really should save my money. A few things on deck right now. RAAL towers. Oppo BDP 95. Turn table. And if I am NOT lucky another P5 purchase since my first one has gone A-wall!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm really getting pissed off on that one.

Totally understandable about being frustrated with your P5 situation. Don't give up. I'm sure you will get it resolved one way or another.

In the meantime, definitely try to save your money...... like me. :)

I tried to sell all of my priced speakers and bought only 2 systems - my dream $30K RBH five-tower system for HT & music and my $500 JBL Pro speaker system for karaoke/general. :D

Well, I replaced my family room carpet with Brazilian cherry wood floor. I haven't had time to add any rugs. But now there is a bad echo in the room.

What a significant detrimental difference in sound the wood floor makes.

It's only a bad echo if your room lacks good diffusion. :p

If my math is correct, and it's probably not, you or me could get 4 sx6300/r's for the price of 2 8300 (roughly) and then a center channel and have a great music and surround system. Or does it sound better in my head than in writing (pun intended).

Sx6300/R x 4 = $6560 MSRP
SX8300/R x 2 = $5900 MSRP
SX8300 x 2 = $5000 MSRP

I don't know. More than one good answer. I just like bigger speakers. Like 5 SX-8300. :D

As with most things in life, bigger is better! And I certainly agree in this situation. I would love 5 SX-8300's but that is well beyond my budget, and I'd settle for 4 since my setup wouldn't allow for one as a center! The problem is finding a place to audition them! Same with Revel, there are dealers around, but no stocking dealers that I've found.

Yeah, dealers with actual showrooms and speakers to audition are a dying breed. Way of the Internet Revolution.

I have the 5 RBH towers for people to audition. Perhaps I may get a pair of SX-8300 for my second room.

New silver drivers installed today. The replacement drivers were a lot different than the black ones they came with?? Sounds different too.

Can anyone answer why the RBH drivers do not have a negative and positive wire designation on the hook up tabs? WHEN I took the original driver connections off there were no indications of this. They also were the same size. Now I have no idea if they are hooked up wrong.

The silver drivers look prettier, but they also look smaller. They have less bass too? Were the original drivers 6.5" or 8"?

And as further evolution of the showroom, they don't stock, and it's more about home automation and all of that stuff. Either way, RBH is one of my top contenders, not only for their sound, but do some manufacturing in the US. Not a deal breaker, but I prefer to support local.

I replied in your other thread. Either look for the small + and - designations near the connectors or on the connector tab or look for a size difference of the physical connector tabs. It's very important to get polarity correct.
