I have the Fire TV and like it. I ordered 2 of these. One to replace my Roku2 at the other house because I pretty much hate that thing at this point, and the other one for an as of yet undefined gift (probably my parents).

I decided to preorder this, but the estimated delivery date is January 16. That's a long time. I'd expect them to have these ready to ship.

Yikes, though that may have some to do with holiday period in there as well. I ordered one and it said Dec 2. I ordered the second one shortly after and it already jumped by 3 days. These weren't supposed to release until Nov. 20, so they weren't ready to go, and their idea to blow them out cheap may end up backfiring a bit because of extreme demand.

The $20 deal is also over now.

I decided not to order - because it said my delivery date would be around Jan 9.
That is crazy and not worth it to me - since I already own the Fire TV

Yeah, no need for the stick if you have a FTV already unless you need a cheap streamer in another room.

A question I have always had about these is do they require line-of-sight between remote and stick?
I have one TV where the HDMI ports are on the back of the TV (pointed down, but not near the bottom) and the remote would need to work through the TV.

I think the remote is Bluetooth so no need for line of sight, but range is limited
