Brand new, cannot get the signal through a 3' cord, wall plate, 30' cable to the tv. Tech support says take it back. Direct HDMI to tv works just fine, other sources, including my Onkyo 609, through the wall plate and 30' cord work as well. II know i don't have a wiring issue. Any body ever see a receiver not have the power for hdmi runs?

Do i take it back? Is there anything else in the 800 range that can handle hdmi zones? I Have a workout area, bar area, and outdoor setup that will be getting a wireless hdmi setup shortly, thus the need for zones. This thing fits the bill if the simplest connection would work.

Wow. Sorry to hear that. The longest HDMI cable I've used with my Denon 3312 was a 15' BJC. Never used longer.

Wonder if you could use an active hdmi cable at the tv end to boost the signal? If you dig that receiver otherwise, it might be worth a try.

My 4520 is going through a 25ft cable to my projector although no wall plate. Is there any way you can bypass the wall plate just to try it. What kind of cable is it?

My Denon AVR-5308 & AVP-A1HD can output HDMI 50 FT cable signal to my 2 BenQ W6000 projectors. No wall plates. No boost.

If you bought the X4000 from your local store, you could try another X4000 and see.

I ordered an active extension to see if that might do it, should be here today. I'll knock out the hdmi connection in the wall plate and just put this in it's place. Figured they are pretty cheap, and worth it due to the exchange hassle. Since these are sort of in closeout status, it's all custom order through best buy. You can't just go to the stores and pick these types of units up anymore. I've tried all kinds of cables, the main in the wall is actually a 30' cable, generic Aurium, but it has worked through the Onkyo just fine. I wonder if the 3 hdmi outputs on the new unit has anything to do with it, maybe less power to each?

HDMI is an infamous fickle beast. Every time I buy something new with HDMI, I always pray. :D

Good news, bad news. Looks like the 4000 is a little lacking in the hdmi power department with those 3 outputs, but a little $20 active booster took care of it no problem. Gotta love Amazon prime, overnight for $3.99.

Next test is a Belkin wireless hdmi unit for the other rooms.

What size wire are you running for the 30' section?
I have a 50 foot 22ga. That works well with my 3313.
Cheers, Mac
