Hey everyone,

Today I was listening to stereo and realized that my sub wasn't contributing. So i looked at the back of it and noticed the light was red as if it was not getting a signal. I shut off the sub, repowered it, and noticed the light go green briefly then it shut off and the sub has not powered back on since. I know Epik is out of business. I am hoping that if the amp is bad someone has a recommendation of a replacement amp or place to have it repaired. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I guess this is the risk of buying an ID sub. UGH

If we're me and mine went I'd look to replace it with an outboard amp with dsp. Depending on budget there are quite a few options available

It's a risk of buying any sub with internal amp.

Hopefully you can remedy this problem. But perhaps for future references, you might want to buy a subwoofer with external amp. :)

check the fuse / try to replace the fuse.

I bought two of the empire drivers and have them parallel connected to a bridged inuke 3000 DSP. They can easily handle the power and a little ls12 at 25hz 6db filter gets them going real nice.

Partsexpress has the external component sub amps that have proper sub controls on them and the 500W (listed as 1000 @ 4 Ohm) is probably adequate for the Empire, but I've heard those drivers are pretty tough and likely could handle most pro amps, though then you'll have to handle the filtering. I've already had my Empire amp replaced once before they went out of business and plan to do something like this when this amp goes, though I will replace the sub with something like a PSA XS30 or Rythmik F15HP and the Empire would become a project for the second system.
