Irv: If you want to run windows in a stable way you should employ "proper" windows, meaning the Microsoft windows, OEM versions are full of bloatware and not working well, especially HP is notorious is this sense!
Are you using MS version of Windows or OEM version? Makes a big difference!
I was running windows 10 tech preview for quite a while on my home Laptop, but I deinstalled yesterday, and got back to Ubuntu 14.
Now there's been all this talks and promotion about the new version of the tech preview with all these added features, like search bar and Cortana ....
Guess what:
- search features does not work, because it's not active in Europe
- Cortana does not work, because it's not active in Europe
Lots of talk about nothing, so windows 10 out the window
So at home now I do have a Dell XPS 16 with Ubuntu 14 and a HP Chromebook 11 and an Android phone, and a legacy Asus Eee netbook with Linux Mint.... My home server runs a custom SUSE Linux Enterprise Server appliance.... so it 5 * Linux .... On my work computer I have no choice as corporate policies dictate Lenovo and Windows 7 ...
Never got to use Macbook, but would be very happy to try
Linus, you're the man
