Dual LV12R's or Single FV15HP

I have seen the discussion about dual vs dual subs, but what if you have to chose it one way or the other? I have an open concept living room (17x11) that is open into my next room. I have limited real estate where I want subs laying around in an open concept. I am running the Denon X4000 and the sub will be used 70/30 (TV/Music).

Looking for suggestions if you would run the (2) LV12's or the (1) FV15HP if you had the choice? Thanks!

but what if you have to chose it one way or the other? ...I have limited real estate
My first grownup sub was the FV15HP. It is a beast! Same as you, open living room, cathedral ceiling, open to dining room. The single FV15HP was plenty to shake the whole house and then some. After about a year, and reading about dual subs the same as you, I got a second sub. This time a beast from SVS.

With 2 subs, set w/ Audyssey on my X4000, the house doesn't shake any harder, but a noticeable null at my wife's chair is gone. I could have likely found a placement for the first sub that would have helped the null. But as tolerant as my bride is, there are limitations on placement of that beast in the living room. (Ended up putting the 2nd one in the open dining room.)

I suspect one FV15HP will give you the full impact of a strong sub, even in your open space.
I suspect if you get 2 LV12s, you will always be curious about the impact of a full grown big boy sub. (You are a Jarhead, right?)
I suspect if you get 1 FV15HP, you will still be curious about the impact of having 2. (Still a Jarhead, right?)

So either way, you're gonna be curious and one day want to "upgrade". If you get the FV15HP now, upgrading is simply buying another. If you get 2 LV12s, upgrading may still mean getting 1 or 2 big boys, and having to dispose of the LVs, (limited space, right?) So I suggest the FV15HP now, then another whenever you're ready.

BTW, from your big brother out of the Canoe Club, we appreciate ya!

Sounds to me like the issue is room, and he doesn't have space for two large subs like FV15HPs.

Haha...Thank you much. I am a jarhead and would not have made it anywhere without the driver (Navy). So I thank you as well sir.

As for a response, this is an incredibly hard decision. Just as ShadyJ said, I am running out of real estate, but I want the best money can buy. I don't care if it's sitting in the middle of my living room (I know someone else that wouldn't be so happy). After talking to ShadyJ I just started pondering around with HSU's stuff. What I really need is a place that has every one of these and sit and listen. However that is in a perfect world. At first I thought I wanted it mainly for movies, but I also want it to perform awesome with music. Thinking about it, I am probably a 50/50 spilt music/movies. They weren't my numbers before.

Thank you all for the input. I have already drove ShadyJ to never want to come on a message board again. :) And thankfully I told my gf that these subs were so small she would never even know they were there.....haha

Well, I have been pushing for you to get the Rythmiks more than the Hsus, as the Rythmiks have the same veneer as your incoming speakers. The performance on any of them will be very good. SVS's standard black grain finish is pretty close to the Primus veneer as well, but I don't know if it's an exact match. I think the Hsu satin black is a bit nicer, but it might be better to have everything match, I don't know how important that is to you. Any of them will sound great.
