Bingo ... you got it. mine are probably about 7 to 8 feet apart but you'll be fine. I've also used a pair of KEF LS50's books in here at one time and the sound was splendid. no comparison to me on what sounds better.
Awesome, furthermore that way I can declutter the desk. But now... i need some Stands that don't break the bank. Any suggestions?

P.S Glad I have a big table. And about the sound equalization, I want to get a Yamaha RN 500, would that be able to adjust the sound well?

Aren't studio speakers too plain when it comes to sound? So the B&W won't sound good when listened from 2-3ft?
they will sound good but in a condensed area, what 3 feet apart? whereby if you give yourself about 3 to 4 feet in the front and at least 6 feet apart, you'll get a more expansive sound and the sub will fill out the bottom.

I meant me being 3 ft from the Speaker, but as said if placed 7ft one from another I will be 4ft away. I don't plan on using a sub, only the bookshelf's.

No ... that's a straight 2 channel but there are plenty of Yamaha AVR's in the same price range with YPAO.

I've got 3 sets of these in the house, sturdy and affordable. fill them up with some buckshot and your golden.

not an issue. my left speaker is about 3 feet in front of me at the desk and the right speaker is about 7 to 8 feet away.

Perfect; I read about the YPAO and yes, better get a receiver so I can also connect it to the TV, Wii U... Any recommendations?

yeah, how much money u got your pocket? :D
Not as much as I'd like to have :p

1200€ -1600$ 550€ gone for the B&W and stands are 170€ shipped so around 450€-600$ A good DAC is what I prioritize over any other feature.

without me doing your homework on the intergoogle I believe all of the Yammy AVR's have a Burr-Brown DAC. would u consider a 3 to 4 year used model? I have found the Yamaha AVR's pretty bullet proof and you would gain some power.

I haven't but they will probable not be available in my country secondhand (Spain), I am also googling on the matter. Found:[h=1]Yamaha RX-V475[/h] Reviews said it has good sound.

Considering now the KEF LS50 as some of you suggested, they are designed for near field, unlike the B&W 685S2

I can get them for 1000€ (Usual price is 1200€) and the B&W for 550€ (Usual 650€) which should I go for? I plan on pairing them with a Yamaha RN500 that will receive sound by optical in.

I own a pair of LS50's and to me it's not even close, the KEF's win hands down. Having said that, I haven't heard the B&W 685S2's, so take my opinion for what its worth. I'm assuming you demoed both. Buy what your ears preferred.
