I am looking to buy some subs with the best bass available. I am going to throw house parties so I would like to have the best possible. What do you recommend?

Welcome to the forum!

How big is the room/house, and what's your budget?

Also, how do you define "best?" Loudest, lowest frequency capability, most accurate?

The house is about 4,000 Square ft. No budget, and as for 'best', I mean loudest .

Build or commission a build of a few Othorns or buy a couple JTR Orbit Shifters.

If loudest is your sole criterion, and price is not an object and neither is WAF, Danley Sound Labs is the answer. They can make you some 140+ monsters that will damage your hearing as well as your property and not break a sweat doing so.

If you are looking for the "club" type of dance-bass stuff just get a couple of the big bass bins meant for that. They will provide a TON of clean output down to the 40hz-50hz range which is fine for most all music for "house parties".

Something like this for example,

JBL EON518S 500W 18" Powered Subwoofer | Musician's Friend

A little difficult to take seriously when there is no budget. No budget usually means "damn rich" and 10,000+ SF mansion. :D

A 4K SF house is no big deal. Every house in my neighborhood and hundreds more in the mile radius is 4-6K SF. You don't see anyone trying to fill their 4-6K SF house with price-no-object bass. :D

Impressive looking. I have a soft spot for externally-powered speakers and subs. :D

What is the wait time from ordering to finish if someone were to order 4 of those?
I don't know but would love to find out by ordering. Ha

My budget will not allow.. (Wife)

That setup was more than my first house...

Would 140dBSPL @1m suffice? ;)

A pair of these: JTR Speakers | Orbit Shifter Pro (4Ω)

...hooked up to one of these: Behringer iNUKE NU12000DSP | Sweetwater.com, will get it done.

(Also consider THIS.)

Does the bass have to reach inside every closet and bathroom within the 4K SF house ? :D

Alexray, did we scare you off? :D If you're serious, I hope you learned that "no budget" and "loudest" can equate to extreme solutions. After all, your identifiers are extreme.

Now really, what do you want? The size of your house doesn't matter if your party room is 20'x20', or if your entertaining will be in the back yard. And "no budget" is RARELY what us normal mortals mean.

So what is the size of your party room(s), and how much do you really want to spend? Or were you just having a little fun with us?

I thought you had a soft spot for passive subs ADTG... you were the inspiration for that recommendation. :D

The beauty of 140dB capability is that they're super clean at a mere 120dB.

Anyway, I hope the OP comes back to let us know his thoughts.

No the sub is great.

My joking was towards the "no budget, house is 4K SF", as opposed to "budget is $6K, room is 20FT x 20FT". :)

We get these all the time, no responce from the op in a few days, probably going to best buy, lol...

I hear it often, people ask me, "hey what can I put in my room for a sound system" and then when you ask what they want to spend, they say "what ever no budget, just good sound" then I say, "well for a nice 2.2 music rig, figure $700 for an rr2150, $200 for a parasound zcd, $1500 for a pair of subs, $1500 for a pair of bookshelfs, then a couple hundred for stands and cables, gets you rite over $4000" they look at you like you have 3 heads and never bring it up again... Now if they just asked "what can I get for around $500 I would say a nice set of hvl1's and a refurbed stereo receiver, listen and enjoy...

For the op if he is serious, we should have a budget because you can buy subs for $50K, if money were no object for me and I wanted subs for a room, I would have Funk audio build me 4 18" passive subs {with dual 18's in each}, something 4ohm sealed that can handle a couple thousand watts... And I would power them with 4- XPR1's that would be 1750 watts each for a total of 7000 watts {sure class d pro amps would be cheaper, but in my experience they just dont last like a a/b and they have no triggers, and when money is no object??? why not}...

So funk would probably get around $2000 a sub and the amps you can probably get for around $6000 so for around $14000 you can have some of the loudest tightest deepest bass you can imagine, budget another $2K for cables, treatments, and amp stands.... That would be BADASS... Oh yeah and another $800 or so to wire in 220 for each amp would be an awesome touch too...
