Classé has announced the availability of a new series of components called Sigma. Sigma features a 7.1 channel Surround Sound Preamp/Processor, called Sigma SSP, and two amplifiers, the AMP2 and AMP5, rated at 2x200W and 5x200W into 8 ohms respectively. The SSP retails for $5,000, while the AMP2 and AMP5 cost $3,500 and $5,000, respectively.

2 things.

1. No ATMOS, DTS-UHD, or AURO-3D. :)
2. I'm glad to see high-end companies doing class-D amps. If more of them do it (Krell, Mark Levinson, Bryston, McIntosh, etc.), one day Class-D amps may just sound as good as class-A, A/B amps. :D

1. At this point, who cares, there is 1 Atmos film.
2. I am with you on that. Although, I would like to see multi-tone measurements with FFT's to get a better feel for real world performance.
If amp differ, aside from driving load, then IM driving speaker loads would be a likely source and it is measurable.

So far I haven't measured or listened to ANY class D amps that equal the very best Class AB. The new Techniques Class D has me intrigued since it compensates its output based on load impedance. I want to get that one on my test bench!

And that's why all the amps I own for all speakers and subwoofers are class A/B. ;)

I don't foresee myself changing anytime soon. :D

True that. 1 measly Atmos title on the worst movie of the year! :D
