Don't let him fool you. That Forester is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
;) It is most definitely deceptively quick; noticeably quicker than the WRX.

Yeah, I just read through that thread. But I would still go with the WRX based on looks.
I do miss the WRX and the way I had it setup at the time, it handled better, but I have no complaints about the XT :) That lack of "looks" means cops don't notice it either. :D Guys used to stare at the WRX all the time. Almost nobody but Subaru people look at the XT, although I did have a guy walk up to me who didn't know that there was a turbo variant of the Forester the other day and said he liked it. "Did you do a swap?"

I will concede that there is something to be said for a sleeper!

In fact, I like most of my electronics and computers to be like that. Black boxes that nobody even really pays attention to until it's time to rattle some walls, makes them jump.

I really dig the flat black car paint jobs with the matte black rims! I would love to do that to my Mustang. Something like this

We should take this over to a car thread or my thread instead of this one, since it is about parts, DIY and such.

I really hadn't paid for a brake job, oil change, tune up, etc... for like 20 years. Now I like having damaged knuckles and losing that one bolt that I need a LOT less than I used to, so I pay someone else to do a lot of things for me more often these days. Plus I can take it back to them and tell them to fix it when something goes wrong, because I wasn't the one who didn't do it right lol.

BTW I have found Eric the Car Guy on YouTube. He has a great video on explaining how shops price out jobs now. It's most likely a rough business to be in from accounts.
It is a rough business, unless you're a high-end shop that specializes in expensive marques (e.g. BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, etc) and you have the street credibility to attract that sort of business. There are people who get rich in auto repair, I know a couple, but if your shop is nothing special it takes a long time to build a profitable customer base. Working on cars and trucks is also dangerous and poisonous. Satisfying to some (like me) as a hobby, I can't imagine it as a profession.
