Any Led Zep fans considering ordering the new remastered sets?

HDTracks has the 96/24 versions which I want to download, but I don't know the difference between the Deluxe and Remastered versions.

I've had the "Should I get back into vinyl?" thoughts rolling around in my brain recently. It wouldn't be an inexpensive venture, to be sure. For starters, I would need to buy a new turntable and phonograph preamp. But, these re-masters could be the catalyst that persuades me to take the plunge.

However, if SWMBO isn't open to the thought of me accumulating more "stuff", I could be open to the CD re-masters. I'm wondering what they did during re-mastering. I hope they didn't compress the snot out of them, as we've seen happen with previous re-issues.

When I was in high school, I had 2-3 LZ albums. But, when I joined the navy, portability became important. So, the subsequent 3-4 purchases were on cassette. When I finally had a place where I could have a proper stereo system, I went with the relatively new CD format. I then bought the 4- and 2-CD box sets:

You can get some really nice sets at music direct with the 10% sale, a lot of them are already marked down, I bought the eagles set, I have wanted it for a while but the cheapest I ever seen it was $139, with the discount it came to around 115...

Been purchasing the basic 2 disc sets and have been quite impressed. Some stuff better than others. Overall they sound great and have renewed my interest quite a bit.

Way to much Zeppelin in my twenties I was wondering if I would ever come back. Looking forward to Led Zeppelin IV Houses of The Holy.

i already own all the zep albums and cd's so I couldn't justify buying the box sets , but for $500 I did consider replacing everything, them box sets would look much better on the shelf...

Love to see physical Graffiti too- that was the first Swan Song labeled album and likely why it's not in this program.

I wanted to buy the new remasters but the prices are way too high. There is no way that I will pay $20 + for an album.

I paid $2000 for an album once... the guy wanted 3600, I thought I did good...

Some of the box sets, like the zeps for example come with a lot of stuff, like cd's, multiple albums, books, art, ect... they are numbered and make you feel special that is worth a few dollars more, lol...

Some say nothing was remixed. Jimmy Page may not be able to remix, maybe not everything was saved (on tape) to recreate the (stereo) mixes. I was saddened to find multi-tracks, (4) songs from LZ II album, posted on YouTube, but nowhere to be found as Bonus tracks. So, I remixed them as best I could, so I could hear the entire recording sessions, rather than edited or faded endings that others felt appropriate. Loved hearing the "real" chaotic ending of Whole Lotta Love with Robert Plant calmly saying, "and that's the end"

I personally do believe the current reissues could have sounded better. It was the first time I quickly noticed maracas and a tambourine [via multi-tracks] used on Whole Lotta Love [funny to find Robert Plant's photo under "maracas" on Wikipedia]. In today's digital remixing and editing as needed on Whole Lotta Love session tracks, no other magnetic tapes are needed that just add noise to recordings. Obviously, Whole Lotta Love is a staged recording, but still enjoyable! You can tell by John Bonham's drum tracks. He had a blast playing drums to it.
