Hi all,

I am connecting my SACD player via 5.1 analog cables into Denon 4311 AVR. My screen on receiver shows EXT-IN .... meaning Audyssey or anything else is not functioning. Sound comes in as it is .. so AVR simply is an amp.

Problem is because of my poor room acoustics, sound is all over the place. I want to try running it through receiver ... so how do I change? Or the only way to do this is to use HDMI cable into receiver instead of analog cables?

thank you

You need to run hdmi for multi channel audio. You have it setup for Ext IN which is analog in.

thank you for responding. .. .. but now I am in trouble....

Just connected via HDMI through HDMI6 and nothing is showing or sounding. Can this DVD/SACD/DVDA player be too old with a very old HDMI that it won't work with my receiver?

I have Denon DVD-2910 going into Denon 4311ci receiver

One thing I noticed is that when I play 5 channel surround music, my Receiver still plays 5.1 (sending sound to sub). Yet when SACD is recorded in 2ch I do only hear 2 channels.

did I plug everything correctly?
